Rays

Narine Arakelian is an Armenian artist based in Venice and Los Angeles. She studied fine art in Moscow before taking a year-long internship at the Digital Arts Department at the Los Angeles Academy of Art. These two translucent glass columns were produced at the Abate Zanetti glassworks on the Venetian island of Murano, famed throughout the world for its blue glass. They are thematically linked with Arakelian's lighthouse installation 'The Pharos Flower' at the 58th Venice Biennale.
